“Poems and Pictures” is a book project that began when I was 19, when I wrote and illustrated a poem called “Peter and the Skypainter” as a gift for the grandson of a woman I worked with at the headquarters of Lane Bryant, Inc. in Manhattan. I began to post other poems and pictures on the bulletin board in our office. These small personal projects led to an interview that got me my first art job at New Vision Display. Good times!
